Wolfer Goldgrube Riesling Spätlese 2003

Beautiful straw color with golden reflections. Youthful nose with a medium intensity of citrus and stone fruit and distinct mineral aromas. Predominantly peach, but hints of green apple and strawberries are also noticable. Medium sweet on the palate with medium(+) acidity. Low alcohol. Light body with a creamy mouthfeel. Pronounced intensity of lush peach flavors, spice, tangerine and again quite a distinct minerality. Long length with a very pure fruit and stone finish.

A gorgeous wine, so complex and yet perfectly balanced. A Spätlese with both depth and lightness. And at 8.5% alcohol you can drink the whole bottle and still be able to understand Goethe's Faust.
