Tasting Notes

Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Auslese** 2005

Pale lemon color. Youthful nose with a pronounced intensity of citrus, flint, honey and flowers. Sweet, high acidity. Medium to light body. Low alcohol. Medium intensity of lemon, grapefruit, honey, flowers and spice. Long length.

Excellent balance of acidity, fruit and sugar levels. Complex aromas and flavours at a very young age. Drink now but this wine will definitely improve by ageing, so keep it as long as possible, at least 20-25 years.

Very good.

Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Auslese** 1976

Bright golden color. Developed nose with a pronounced aroma of dill, honey, grapefruit and apple. Sweet, medium acidity, medium body with a very soft, almost oily mouthfeel. Low alcohol. Medium intensity of honey flavours, mushroom, apple and apricot. Very long length.

A perfectly harmonious wine - flavour complexity, mouthfeel, length. Exciting the combination of dill, which is quite pronounced on the nose, and honey. Drink now or keep for a few more years.

Excellent - outstanding.
